The Story
This is the narrative of the attraction, and the storyboard to visualize these events:
Guests approach a large observatory for a lesson on the stars. They walk into a large domed room with an intricate, golden telescope on a pedestal, where a professional looking astronomer greets them. He explains that his name is Dr. Galilei, and he wants to show them the stars; not as they are, but as they once were. With a wave of his hand, his suit transforms into a wizard robe and the space becomes alive with celestial magic. He explains that, although beautiful, the stars are covered by pollution. There is a lunar eclipse that night, and the night sky’s magic is at its peak. As a wizard, he knows of a spell that can harness the power of the eclipse and restore the sky to its former glory. However, he needs five magical items from the constellations. He then introduces the celestial chariot, which will be the guests’ transportation into the stars.
After this preshow, the guests board the chariot, and they are transported into space. The first stop is to Canis Major and Canis Minor, a constellation of a pair of dogs. Here, they are to retrieve a bone from the dogs.
Next, they need to go to the Aquila constellation, who is the retriever of thunderbolts for the Greek god, Zeus, and get one of these thunderbolts.
The next constellation is Pisces, where they must collect a scale from the fish. During the journey from Pisces to the next constellation, they pass a bright and dangerous looking star, bathed in a red glow. Dr. Galilei explains it’s a star called Algol, regarded in many cultures to be a terrifying entity. The guests pass without trouble though, and approach Orion, the hunter.
Orion gives the guests a golden arrow from his bow, and are sent on to the final constellation. Suddenly, chariot is attacked by Algol. Luckily, Orion appears again, and launches them to safety with his bow.
The guests find themselves entering a hot section of starry orange flames, and approach their final constellation: the Phoenix. Here, they collect some of its flames.
Finally, the chariot makes it back to the observatory, where the Dr. Galilei takes all of the elements from the five constellations and uses them in his spell, restoring the sky to its full potential. The guests leave with a feeling of purpose and contentment, having helped in this magical chase.
